Canon PowerShot Pro-1 Settings Guide

  • Set White Balance to Auto.
  • Set ISO to lowest setting, Auto ISO is not recommended.
Use any Ikelite SubStrobe in Manual Mode with a sync cord:

  • Set camera to Manual Exposure Mode
  • Set Shutter Speed to 1/100 of a second
  • Set Aperture to f/5.6
  • Use power settings of the strobe or Aperture to adjust exposure
When using an EV Manual Controller, a sync cord is required:

  • Set camera Exposure Mode to Manual
  • Set Shutter Speed to 1/100 of a second
  • Set Aperture to f/5.6
  • Set EV Manual Controller to NO pre-flash and to correct SubStrobe model
  • Set DS SubStrobe to TTL

Sliding the housing connector into the camera hot shoe disables the built-in flash of the camera.

When camera is set to Macro Mode and you are shooting subjects close-up, set the camera's Aperture to its smallest opening (largest number). Do not use Macro Mode for photos more than two feet away from the camera.

When using zoom lens at focal lengths greater than 100mm, the Shutter Speed should be increased to 1/200th of a second.

Set Image Resolution to the Highest JPG format available. Higher resolution settings are required for printing. High resolution images can easily be reduced in size with software and retain their original quality. A low resolution image can be enlarged with software, but much of the quality will be lost.
