The TTL Slave Sensor is designed for use with Film and dSLR cameras. It is NOT reccommended for use with point and shoot digital cameras. It triggers and quenches the strobe to which it is attached, but is not fast enough to mimic their preflash and TTL. The Manual Controller is recommended with these cameras.

The #4100.5 TTL Digital Slave Sensor does not require batteries and can only be attached to our newest gray color DS model digital strobes. The sensor is turned on automatically and is powered by the strobe ready light. The new #4100.5 has special circuitry to provide better control with the pre-flash systems of digital cameras. When attached to a DS series digital strobe, it can also be triggered by and used with any type of camera and strobe. See Switch Settings. Max/min knob sets sensitivity range.

Digital #4100.5
( discontinued )

These Sensors start and stop the flash of the attached SubStrobe by "watching" the strobe controlled by the camera.
The sensor will be tripped by any underwater strobe from any manufacturer, but can only be attached to and operate Ikelite Substrobes. Sensitivity adjustable for triggering up to 15m (50') from the strobe connected to the camera.

Slave Sensors providing cordless TTL compatibility were introduced to the underwater world by Ikelite in the mid nineties. The best performance is achieved by putting the sensor in a small housing that can be aimed at the strobe attached to the camera, assuring the sensor will not be confused by the flash it controls. Strobes that utilize a built in slave sensor aimed at the subject can only provide TTL control if used with a considerably brighter primary strobe.
