The SB-103 is a 50 watt second strobe that is almost identical to our SubStrobe 50 in power, intensity, and coverage. |
The SB-105 is a 75 watt-second strobe with about 1/2 f-stop more intensity than the Nikonos SB-103. |
The Substrobe 50 recycles twice as fast and provides twice as many flashes per set of batteries compared to the considerably larger and more expensive Nikon SB-103 and SB-105 strobes. Our more powerful (100 watt second) SubStrobe 100a provides wider coverage for less money, and is the value leader for strobes that can cover everything from a 15mm lens to macro photography. Our innovative SubStrobe 200 is within 1/2 f-stop of the ultra expensive Nikonos SB-104. It is not fair to compare the SB-105 to the SubStrobe 200 which is the most sophisticated flash on the market. Our Substrobe 400 is the most powerful and brightest strobe available. |
The watt-second rating represents the actual electrical energy that is available to flash the strobe. This rating is comparable to horsepower in an automobile or watts in a light bulb. Note that the SB-105 has less than half the power of our SubStrobe 200 which also provides over 100 degree coverage. |
