Starting Nov. 1, 2009 our simple and reliable port system will feature four locks for added user confidence and fail-safe assembly.

All existing port components with the exception of the #5510.10 Superwide Port Body are fully functional with the new port system. Please read further for more information on changes to the Superwide Port body.

Housings shipped after Nov. 1 will also feature a new 1/4-20 threaded mounting point for the attachment of a focus light, video light or other lightweight accessories. This mount accepts optional #9571.6 1" (2.5cm) or #9573.1 Flex Ball Adapters.

Any two-lock housing purchased new from an authorized Ikelite dealer on or after Oct. 1 may be returned for a complimentary upgrade. Modification and return shipping within the United States and Canada upon completion is currently being offered free of charge only with a valid sales receipt dated on or after Oct. 1. All freight charges, duties and fees incurred on return of the housing to Ikelite are the sole responsibility of the customer. No pick-ups or freight reimbursements will be issued and no exceptions will be made to this policy.

To perform this modification we must replace the housing front. Under no circumstances will the original housing front be returned. We request the housing back be returned at the same time for water pressure testing and control alignment purposes. Please remove the handle assembly and all accessories before returning.

Housings purchased before Oct. 1 may also be returned for modification at a cost of $150 plus return freight. The new 1/4-20 threaded top mount will be added at no extra charge.

While your housing is back at the factory, we highly recommend taking advantage of our limited time cost-saving offer of annual service for an additional $50 (a $125 value). Regular maintenance of a housing is just as important as servicing any other dive equipment, and it is the best way to prevent sticky controls and excessive build-up of salt residue. Our routine service includes cleaning of the housing and control parts, replacement of all seals, verification of the TTL electronics and water pressure test.

This offer is only available in conjunction with paid port system upgrade. Total cost for upgrade to four-lock system, addition of the top mount and complete annual service is just $200 plus return freight.

We will begin accepting housings for upgrade starting November 1, 2009. At this time, please allow at least 4 weeks plus transit time for the completion of the upgrade.

Due to our limited number of repair technicians, NO RUSH upgrades will be offered at this time. If you require use of your housing within this timeframe, please wait until after your scheduled dives to send your housing for modification. The turnaround time for upgrades will be shortened as we are able to catch up on the initial demand.

The original #5510.10 Superwide Port Body for the 8" Dome is not usable with the new four-lock port system. This port body has been replaced with the new #5510.11 Superwide Port Body. The #5510.11 features a new locking feature and is usable with both four-lock and two-lock housings.

At this time existing port bodies may be returned for a reduced exchange cost of $60 plus return freight. As this is an exchange price, the original #5510.10 port body will not be returned under any circumstance.
